Emojis!
So iPhonekrzy brought this to us all.
If you'd like to get the pretty smileys some of us are using, this is how you'd get it.
1. Update your iPhone to 2.2.
2. Go to designer.dlinkddns.com/blog/?p=107.
3. Click on the link under the #1 instructions. It'll take you to a page where it's mostly in Japanese.
4. Look for a link that says vcard.vcf. Click it to download the file. Do Not Open the file.
5. Send the file in an email to yourself.
6. Open the file on your iPhone.
7. Click the "create 27 contacts".
8. Go into settings and turn on the Japanese QWERTY.
9. Test it out in notepad. Hit the globe on the keyboard and type emojii, emojia or emoju. It should bring up a string of pictures.
You're gonna have to delete the ones you don't want.

Vacation 08
Dear Friends,
As promised, I am posting a pic from my vacation. I will also be including a link to more pics.
Just a little back ground. Juan and I went back to New Mexico for 11 days. Originally, we were going back to help take care of my aunt who was scheduled to have shoulder surgery. Unfortunately, due to the Labor Dept, her surgery never happened. So our trip turned into a nice little vacation for the both of us.
My mom's family is from the Pueblo of Acoma, a reservation an hour west of Albuquerque. The above picture is a sample of houses that some families still live in on the reservation. I know that for Juan, the trip was surreal. He has had no prior exposure to this type of landscape or living conditions. I, on the other hand, used to visit the reservation as a child and my mother was born and raised on the reservation.
I know that many of you probably have questions. I'll try to answer as many as I can on here. First, there are several villages that have modern houses and the conveniences enjoyed by us all. The picture on here was taken on the mesa where our ancestors built their homes. On the mesa, there is no running water or electricity. Some families do live on top of the mesa year round.
If you have any other questions, which I'm sure you will, please feel free to contact me online or on here.

I logged into cookie lastnight and today and there was no one in any of the rooms. Where is everyone? Did I miss a memo or something? I know jazz was talking about her room and I don't understand what she means. Well, please let me know where everyone went.

My Wedding...
I'm getting married tomorrow! It's supposed to rain, New Jersey is always having our famous Northeastern Storms. WOO
Some say it's good luck but I just want to be able to make into the building without getting soaked, haha.
Then off to Disney World, we are taking my new husband's daughter Jordan with us for a few days, and then her grandparents are flying down to pick her up and bring her back to Jersey while we spend a few more days alone in Florida...
So... I won't be cookie bonusing for a little while but I'm sure I will pop in here and there.
See you all again soon,
Love,
Kat

LOL of the Day
Hi everyone.
Here is another LOL to brighten your day and hopefully make you smile.
Please read these carefully and really think about them. I know, in every post I try to put a bit of reality in to spark the mind or a “moral to the story” (I believe everything is a learning experience) but really think about these home remedies. We tend to get caught up in high tech stuff to fix all of our problems (this is coming from a man that makes a living from of software and computers) but sometimes we loose sight of the REALLY easy “fixes” to our problems. My favorite is the alarm clock and the cough. I might try it once, lol.
If you can think of any new home remedies, please post them and have fun with it or at least let me know that you like reading these. I like the responses.
Again I hope you enjoy my posts and remember to smile today. You never know who will notice it.
LoniM
AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
2. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives; then you'll be afraid to cough.
3. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
4. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
5. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
And finally a daily thought:
SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES; NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS. :-D

Solitaire Strategies!
Hi! Subvertia here!
Disclaimer: this has been written while intoxicated. I reserve the right to take things back, or admit you're right tomorrow!
I was wanting to ask if any of ya'll had any strategies or OCD ticks that work with our little game!
(You can skip this part, it's my personal background...)
I've been playing solitaire since I was a little kid. I learned how to play at my grandparents house. Grandma was a bridge player and Grandpa loved parlor games, so they had about 50 decks of cards! When I was 9 years old, I won 18 decks in a row, fair and square. Anyway, I've always played, and when it was available on my grandparents *Tandy* (guess my age!), I was addicted!
You can only imagine how I feel now, being able to move the cards with my fingertips, that's so spaceage!
Anyway, here are some of my OCD's that help my game!:
k
*I always move the kings and high cards to the left.
*I keep the high cards on the empty spaces if they land there.
*I try to keep the 'King spots' full, meaning; if I have a 10/heart followed by a 9/spade, I would rather have the 10/heart in a successive row than with just one other card. it really keeps the board clean for me.
that may not make any sense, but it does to me!
What are some of ya'll's strategies?

My Two Cents.
As always, I must begin with caveats.
When I joined this group on the fledgling web app, I was struck by a number of things. First, everyone seemed to treat everyone else with a certain level of respect. There was good-natured fun, but it was basically respectful. As time passed, more people joined the web app, and we found some who were not as prepared to be respectful towards each other, and we took care of some of them. Amy ("theamy"), for example, started with our group as a critic, and her opinions were eventually accepted by all, because she voiced them in a reasonable and respectful way. (Sorry to single you out Amy, but I hope you recognize that you're a good example.)
When the native app came out, a great number of us immediately found a home in Gingerbread, probably because it was the functional equivalent of the back of the bus, being the last of the locked rooms. The tenor changed somewhat, and my own opinion is that it became more of an adult room. Just about everyone in there was part of the group, so the talk could get a little racy, and nobody was any worse for the wear. The group has now expanded, and as things tend to do, we've begun pushing certain limits. I am not going to rail against that, because I think it corrects for itself. I would just urge those involved to be careful.
Most recently, it has been my experience that the drama that we once railed against has been replaced by a requirement that nobody's feelings ever get hurt. I think the pendulum has swung back too far. I've enjoyed my time in the rooms, and I continue to. I have a tendency to talk less often, but it's mainly because I'm playing and not paying close attention to the chat. Every time I come in, it seems, someone is apologizing for something. Do we need that?
Conflict is a part of life. I'm all for being adult and accepting the consequences of our individual actions. If you offend someone, you probably should apologize...but only if you were wrong. We come from different parts of the country. We, or our ancestors, hailed from different parts of the world. It stands to reason that our feelings and beliefs about things will be different. It also stands to reason that we will disagree. The discourse that comes from that disagreement is a good thing! It helps to see the other side of the issue, and it also helps others who may be undecided think about the issue and decide where they fall on the spectrum. I have offended pretty much all of my friends at one point or another and, make no mistake, my wife is fearful of being in public with me at least 90% of the time. However, they are still my friends, and she still goes out with me in public, although sometimes in disguise.
Indulge me for an example, and not one from the room. I am a registered Republican. I have voted in every major election since I was old enough to vote. I vote for town council, for state and federal legislatures, and for President. I have voted almost exclusively Republican. I am undecided at this time with regard to the current Presidential election. I think both tickets have pros and cons, and I believe both candidates are basically full of crap with their mandate for change. I am reminded of a political cartoon where George HW Bush and Bill Clinton are standing back to back on the line of moderation and calling each other "Radical". I have expressed these views in certain other chat rooms, and I have been regaled with everything from reasonable discourse to an oddly ironic criticism of being a Communist. But it has assisted me in moving towards a decision (one which I have no plans to share).
I am not espousing that we have lengthy political discussions. Politics and religion are aptly off limits in most general, public discussions. But what I am saying is that we should stop being so afraid of upsetting the participants, offending someone's sensibilities, or crossing one of the other peeps that we are relegated to a group of sniveling drones who do nothing but apologize to each other all day. Offend me. I promise not to take it personally, unless it's a personal attack. Remove the white paint from the walls of the room and let's show each other what we're all about. The color of life is what makes it worth living. We can be nice and pleasant and the Stepford room, or we can be friends!!!! I choose the latter, and I hope many of you join me.
- These are MY two cents. Your comments and opinions are welcome, but please refrain from (1) trying to sway my opinions (just give your own), and (2) being offended that my opinions are what they are. I neither want nor expect anyone to join in my opinion because it's mine. Everyone can make up their own minds. See below.
- This post is not a reaction to any one person or any specific event. It comes on the heels of an event last night, but it is not specifically in response to it.
- If you find the post offensive, please feel free to comment on it, and please include the reasons you believe it to be offensive. Or you may email me and tell me why you think it is offensive. Or you can sit quietly in a dark room being offended and twirling your pendant necklace repeatedly. Just don't go shoot up a post office or something.

Remember to smile or laugh once a day or call/meet someone you have not seen in a long time to make sure you life is full of joy. It is amazing how it can completely change a “seemingly” bad day. So here is your LOL for today!!! ENJOY and SMILE!!

DO MEN REMEMBER ANNIVERSARIES?
A woman awakes during the night to find that her husband was not in their bed. She puts on her dressing gown and goes downstairs to look for him. She finds him sitting at the kitchen table with a hot cup of coffee in front of him. He appears to be in deep thought, just staring at the wall. She watches as he wipes a tear from his eye and takes a sip of his coffee. 'What's the matter, dear?' she whispers as she steps into the room, 'Why are you down here at this time of night?' The husband looks up from his coffee, 'I am just remembering when we first met 20 years ago and started dating. You were only 16. Do you remember back then?' he says solemnly. The wife is touched to tears thinking that her husband is so caring, so sensitive. 'Yes, I do' she replies. The husband pauses. The words were not coming easily. 'Do you remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my car?''Yes, I remember!' said the wife, lowering herself into a chair beside him. The husband continues. 'Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said, 'Either you marry my daughter, or I will send you to jail for 20 years?' 'I remember that too' she replies softly.
He wipes another tear from his cheek and says... 'I would have been released today.

Sorry I've been gone
Hi everyone!
I'm sorry I've been gone for so long but there is this evil thing I have to do. It is so evil it might even bring nightmares to children, teenagers and adults hate it the most, it's called *cue scary music of duhn duhn duhhhh* school!!! Yes school, it is taking up most of my time and church and life is too. (yes I know it's amazing, I actually have one right?) So if you really want to keep up with my life, (who would want to do that I mean that would only be reading to do) my blog is http://kay427.blogspot.com. (I swear I sent an email to tc telling him that but maybe it didn't go through?) Thank you everyone I love you all!

Can you say Brain Banana?
You ever have one of those days where you wake up knowing... "shit this is gonna be a bad day!" Well in those situations I like to call them Brain Banana Days... BBD...
Here's how they start...
Wake up, still tired as all hell, stub your toe. The tiny one... The one you really don't need but god thinks it's funny to give you things in sets of fives.
Then, you get into some stupid argument with the one you love, over coffee pots or a dirty plate...
Off to work.
Your boss is an idiot and relies on you so much that she won't leave you alone to get your own work done, then wonders what's taking you so long?! Well, Brain Banana, it's hard for me to finish what I need to do if I'm always doing your work too...
Your best-friend calls, "Hey guess what?!" your hoping for good news..., "I just found a dead body in the apartment I'm cleaning down the street from your house" you simply reply..."Awesome."
Your love calls, " Sorry we fought earlier it was stupid" your starting to think hey this may turn out to be a good day after all, then he follows it up with, "What were you PMSing?"
Wow. What a moron. Apparently whenever a woman has a bad day that's the first thing that comes to a man's mind.
Not Stress. Not Stupidity of others. Not aniexty... Just PMS
So, I hung up...
Phone rang off the hook all day with more people with stupid problems...
Finally... Time to go home.
You hit 3 squirrels on the way home and almost kill a bird.
You get in the house, throw down your lap top bag, purse and keys and walk into the kitchen to only remember that Roast you took out last night, you never put in the crock pot to cook...
Order Pizza, it comes with mushrooms when you asked for plain...
Take a bath, but you forgot to do laundry, no clean towels...
Finally you end up laying face down and the floor and your soon to be 3 year old step daughter says, "step mommy, your the best step mommy ever... I love you" Your fiance says, " you are the best!"
Then you smile and remember... It was just one of those Brain Banana Kinda days...
The End...
Or is it?
Here's how they start...
Wake up, still tired as all hell, stub your toe. The tiny one... The one you really don't need but god thinks it's funny to give you things in sets of fives.
Then, you get into some stupid argument with the one you love, over coffee pots or a dirty plate...
Off to work.
