Hello from kuhaya06

Hey there my fellow fanatics,

First, I would like to thank jazz for the invite. It is much appreciated.

Now for a little about myself. I'm kuhaya06 or better know to my friends as Sean. I have been playing Bonus Cookie for almost a year now. I just happened to stumble into the web app while looking for different games and I have been hooked ever since! Thanks to the guys at FatFreeGames! Though I don't think my bosses will be thanking them any time soon. (I have a "bad habit" of playing BCS during my many breaks at work. Shame on me but I just can't help it. LOL!)

I live in Tulare, CA with my partner, changito68 or Juan, and our 5 "kids". Currently we have 3 dogs, Sasha, Buffy, & DJ, and 2 cats, Ceasar & Squishy. DJ, our mini doxie, is the baby of the family and definitelty acts like it.

I'm the office manager for a Fresno based automatic gate and door company. Its a small family owned company with a service territory roughly 1/3 the size of the state. It keeps me busy but not too busy that I can't get a few games in during the day. :-)

As some of you know, I am not really vocal in the chats. Though, I do appreciate the friendliness of jazz, surf and the others. Thank you! I look forward to chatting with you all the next time I'm online.

Question?

Hello friends. Is anyone else disturbed about the fall-out resulting from the addition of the free app? I'm not at all upset about paying for cookie bonus solitaire. Tom and his team have worked hard and deserve compensation for their efforts. I guess my problem is the sheer number of new peeps. Many have questions and we have always tried to help and make newbies feel welcome in the past. It isn't possible to answer all the questions, much catch up with friends with all the newbies joining. Not to mention hurt feelings and downright rudeness resulting from misunderstandings. It would be nice to have a seperate secure room for those of us who actually purchased the game. I wonder if that would be possible? Any other ideas? I'm sure things will calm down soon and this won't be an issue. Maybe we just need to sit tight and see what happens. Thanks for letting me vent. alice :~) PS: Please forgive me if I choose a quiet room or just keep quiet for the time being. I still love you all and will be silently cheering for all of you, but I can't handle the ugliness :)

New Member Intro

Hi, my name's Trilo and I like to play with myself.  Er, I mean I like to play solitaire ;-)

While I've been playing Cookie Bonus since last fall, I'm new to the community aspect of it and still getting acclimated.  Thanks to those who've kindly shown me around, and to Jazz for the invite.  Lately I have had a love/hate relationship with the game - on one hand it's a great game, but on the other there are some really quirky bugs that frustrate me to no end and crap decks and all that usual nonsense.

I'm an artist living in San Francisco, working on a wide variety of projects and events and keeping occasionally odd hours and frequently up to no good.  I run Electric Theatre and just recently finished editing a video from LoveFest 2007.  Check it out below if you want to see the kind of things I get mixed up in.  Cheers!

You then just type in the URL address.

I added my family's page. Let's get some more blogs up there so we know what others are reading!!

Message to Grandpa and Grandma

This is a Video I did for my mother and step father after they watched our new born son so we could get our first night out and relax for a bit.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I had making it.

If this does not bring a little smile to your face, there might be something wrong. Make sure you watch it all.

Dose of medicine #2 aaaahhhhhh

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

I don’t have much to say but I believe you should have at least one “Laugh Out Loud” smile a day. It releases the good chemicals in your body and improves ones overall health and attitude. So I thought I would hand out a smile and a little funny medicine once in a while. I assume this a PG-13 crowd so I will keep them mostly clean, if that is OK and non offensive. I have a question on my Blog also. If you would like to know the answer, e-mail me. So here is your first dose of medicine. Open up and say aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh,

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert.
After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep.

Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, 'Kemo Sabe, look towards sky; what you see?'

The Lone Ranger replies, 'I see millions of stars.'

'What that tell you?' asked Tonto.

The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you, Tonto?'

'You dumber than buffalo shit. Someone stole tent.'

See………………… made you smile and hopefully made a bad day a little happier. Some people steel our tents once in a while, you just have to look past it and see the stars. I agree with the Lone Ranger, “Tomorrow will be a beautiful day”. lol

Till next time.................. Same "Bat Channel" but differnt "Bat Time".

Respectfully, LoniM

new blogger

wow, if this actually works, i will be very surprised. joined this blog because i spend a lot of time playing solitaire...... mostly watching and not chatting. it's crazy how it seems you really get to know personalties from the written word, and this is a great group!

Cookie Bonus Solitaire app

I got an iPhone 3G today and I downloaded the Cookie Bonus application. It costs $5.99 and you can play alone or online. I haven't had time to mess around with it much, but it looks promising. You play with your iPhone in landscape view.

Is the 2.0 there yet?

I checked this morning before I went to work and still no update. I checked appple.com and see no software update yet. If you do get the 2.0 update can you do us all a favor and let us know in here?

tick.....tock....tick....tock.....

Is it Friday Yet?

This is sheer torture waiting for the 2.0 update! Maybe we can sue Apple for mental damages!

iPhone 2.0 software available a day early!!!

My brother called me all excited this morning with the news that he found the iPhone 2.0 software update a day early.

First disclaimer is that it is only available for the iPhone. This link doesn't work for the iPod Touch.

Before you install the new software on your iPhone, please do the following:

1)  Sync your iPhone.

2)  Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (version 7.7).

3) If you are on a Mac, make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS (version 10.5.4).

http://gizmodo.com/5023760/download-iphone-20-firmware-right-now

(I am having a problem getting the link to work.  Just copy/paste it into your browser window.)

If you have any problems, I can try to help trouble shoot, but my brother had to send me the file, so I might not be the best tech support.

I have already purchased the native version of Cookie Bonus.  It looks great!  They have 4 chat rooms, all themed to different cookies.  I can't wait to play it!

Native version available.

Hi all. I saw Tom in the chat today, and he let me know that the native version is now available on iTunes. Unfortunately, the categories are not working currently, so it may be a little hard to find. Well, it would be, but Tom also had the direct link to the game. Here it is:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284972649&mt=8

You must upgrade to version 2.0 for the native version to work. I suggest you do it first. To those who may not remember how to upgrade, connect the iPhone to the computer and open iTunes. When the icon for the phone comes up in the left window, click on it, and then click on Check for Updates in the right-hand window. (I'm not looking at the screen at the moment, so forgive me if the wording on the button is different.) It will prompt you to upgrade to the new version. Regardless of whether you intend to purchase the native version, you should upgrade to version 2.0. Failing to do so will wreak havoc on your phone until you do. I know from experience.

I also recommend that you read the most recent news post in the chat at Fat Free Games to read about the native version. It will answer most, if not all, your questions about the new offerings.

Thanks.

TC

P.S. Mamabot's post notwithstanding, you may not be able to download the native version until first upgrading to 2.0, which you currently cannot do from iTunes. So, like, wait until tomorrow. Jeez. :-)

Urpledragon Update

Hello all,

As many of you know, I had to relay a sad bit of news in the chat last night on behalf of our dear friend Urpie. I think I was able to catch mostly everyone last night who knows Urp; so this post is for those whom I may have missed in the chat.

Urp has suffered the devastating loss of her three closest friends within the past three weeks. While she is trying to cope with this tragedy, we won't be seeing much of her in the chat over the next couple of weeks.

Urpie has requested one favor from all of us to help her out: if we should see her in the chat, she is asking us not to approach her and to leave her in peace until she is feeling more nearly recovered and ready to chat once again. Urp doesn't want anyone to feel that she is being unkind; she just doesn't want to bum any of us out and needs some space to deal with all of this. She'll let us know as soon as she's capable of rejoining us.

Also, I have relayed all of your thoughts, prayers, and condolences to dear Urp. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

yours,

Jazz <3

BIIGGG mistake...

Hey guys,
Beanns here. And i just wanted to talk about the me-centered drama in the room lately. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, please don't worry about it. I made the mistake of letting something out that i shouldnt have...

First of all, about my mom. I'm used to everything that goes on in my life. I'm used to the craziness that comes with a parent like this. I've never been able to live in any other way of life, so honestly, i just like to let myself believe that this is how everyone lives, and that works for me.

Second of all, about me. I really do have myself under control. I know i drink, and i'm underage, which is a horrible thing, but sometimes its for an actual reason. Its really hard to deal with my mom when i have to be arround her, and sometimes the only way to get over that is by drinking. and i really dont drink that much when i'm with my friends. only on occasion. I just want to be as normal as possible in high school.

And you guys have no idea how much i appreciate you. I really feel loved in the room, and you guys really make me feel like a have a family in yall. I love yall so much and i care about you so much. I promise you that if i ever feel that i may be in danger, or if anything is going wrong, or if i need to talk, i'll come in and talk to someone, but really, dont mind what you heard. I have really been keeping it out for a reason, and i dont know how i let it slip out earlier. I apprectiate the care you guys have shown for me, but i really only break down once or twice a month, and most of the time i can get over that myself.

Thank you guys so much and i really do appreciate what yall do for me.
I love you guys!!

Dodging Cars

Hi everyone!
So news has just about spread around, but if you haven't already heard I was almost hit by a car. I was on my way to church and was about to cross Main Street. I looked left and there was nobody there. I looked right and there was 3 cars. I watched the first 2 go and the 3rd was all the way down the street so I started to run. Suddenly I hear SCREEECH and I immediately stopped and looked left. I started to back up because I saw the front bumper of the car. They stopped and stared at me. I waited until I knew they weren't going to go, looked right again, then I ran into church (I was late). I was a bit shaken when I was in church, but I am perfectly fine. There is absolutely no need to worry about me. I am okay. Thanks for all of the love and care! I don't know what I would do without you guys! See you on Solitaire!

How will I survive?

I wanted to let everyone know that I won't be around for the next week. I got an offer I couldn't refuse for my iPhone - $520 - and I am iPhone-less until I pick up the new one Friday. I will be camping out Thursday night, which is totally not something I would normally do, but I decided to make an event of it. Plus I NEED my Cookie Bonus Solitaire ASAP! I bought a DS Lite to tide me over, but it just isn't the same. NO CHATS!

Have a good week. May your surrenders be few and far between.

How to convert your DVD collection to fit your iPhone

Ok everyone I know I mentioned this awhile back before my trip to Atlanta. So here it is. You'll have to download two (2) seperate downloads that I have provided links to. The following instructions are for the DVD DECRYPTOR program. Once you download this, just follow the steps below. What I did was create an iPhone folder to my desktop to move all my files into. Once you are done converting the movies into your iTunes account you can just delete the file from the folder.

After a few downloads and conversions this should become easier. I hope everyone finds this useful. If anybody has any questions feel free to email me.

Step 0 - Download Required Software
You should already have a copy of our iPhone video converter. If you do not, simply Download Videora iPhone Converter now. Next you will need a copy of DVD Decrypter, a popular DVD ripper prorgam.

You can download DVD Decrypter from here

Step 1
Place the DVD you want to rip your video from into your DVD drive.

Step 2
Launch the DVD Decrypter software.

Step 3
Go to the Mode menu and select IFO I mode. This will give you access to two new tabs; Input & Stream Processing.

Step 4
Go to the Tools menu, select Settings, go to the IFO tab, then under Options, change File Splitting to None and press OK.

Step 5
Go to the main screen and click the Stream Processing tab. Enable it and only select the first video listed. Note that home encoded movies do not support subtitles of any kind and that your file can only have one type of audio.

Step 6
Before you begin ripping your video, note the destination of the video file. This is where your raw DVD rip is going to go and it will be rather large in size. If you want to change the directory that DVD Decrypter will output to, click on the Browse button and navigate to the folder you want and press OK.

Now that you know where the movie file is going, click on the Decrypt button to start decrypting the DVD to your hard drive.

Once it is done, close DVD Decrypter. Expect a 4 GB to 6 GB movie to take about 12 to 18 minutes.

Step 7
Convert the file that you ripped using DVD Decrypter like you would any other video file in our video iPhone converter. It will be located exactly where you put it in Step 6.

Next you will have to open the VIDEORA iPhone program. Once you start this program it's pretty self-explanatory. It will actually guide you through each step. There are some features for the more advanced but I just stick with the preset options. Once the file is converted it will automatically import the movie into your iTunes account. Next you will have to sync your iPhone to your account and just transfer the movies.
